Patinated Copper Fire Surround and Decorative Wall Panelling

Private Home – UK

With a brief to create a set of decorative wall panels for an entrance hall and fire surround, we jumped at the chance to visit our client’s architect-designed 1970’s property in Wimbledon for a closer inspection.

With an existing set of fabric panels that were in need of replacing, our client’s preferred choice was to introduce copper to their impressive entrance hall. During our initial discussions we explored the desire to create something in-keeping with the existing look and feel of our client’s home. Copper would introduce the perfect level of tone and subtle colour, providing a truly bespoke statement wall in their expansive entrance space.

A modern wall installation showcases patinated copper fire surround with a bronze-green finish and recessed fire feature. It includes decorative wall panelling with geometric designs, exuding a sleek, minimalist vibe in a neutral-toned room, offering multiple intriguing angles.

Working closely with our clients, we devised a set of custom panels and created a series of 3D visuals and drawings to help them imagine how the space could look. We presented our clients with a series of options illustrating the different combinations of colour that could incorporated, from brass through to the finish that was eventually chosen for the fire surround.

Our client’s interior scheme ideas included a very specific patinated copper finish – to also include a little verdigris – and was developed with their input, guiding our patination specialists who worked the surface much like an artist with a paintbrush.

To ensure a seamless look once each individual panel was in place, we used specialist fixings devised to carry weight, but that allow for easy fixing (push into place) as well as ease of removal should access to an individual panel or indeed the wall behind be necessary in the future. We do love to receive feedback from our clients, but equally from our team. Everyone involved was thrilled at the result and at how flexible this fixing system would be for our clients.

And what did our clients think? They were absolutely delighted. Their new feature wall fulfilled the brief and their expectations. By utilising their existing shadow lighting, our clients could set the tone dependent on mood and time of day by adjusting the colour changing LEDs set into the gap between the wall and ceiling. Much of interior design is about creating a great first impression, and wow, this wall certainly does just that!

Decorative Wall Panels

We fabricate panels for a range of uses, from walls to doors, structural column cladding and much in between.

Metal Wall Panels

Metal panels are now a popular alternative to tiles for splash-back areas behind hobs and cookers, sinks and general zones where tiles would traditionally be applied. We offer a range of finishes for such applications.

Textured Wall Panels

Through a range of production techniques we produce a variety of wall cladding panels in a range of textures and finishes. From smooth and flat panels to textured panels full of personality. Talk to us about the area and use these panels are destined for and we can advise the best surfaces for you to consider.
